Miami, FL. (Nov. 18, 2006) - For the last race of the season the Supercuts team had a well-rounded weekend. Solid practice laps on Friday helped set up the car for the last 200-lap race. Mike Skinner would start in 28th position for the FORD 300.
With just three laps into the race there was a caution and Skinner radioed that, "the car seems okay getting into the corner, it might be a little bit tight but we need to run more laps to be sure."
On lap 44 the caution came out and the No. 12 Dodge would pit to take four tires, fuel and two down on the right rear jack bolt.
Skinner complained about a vibration in the car so he came back into the pits, under caution still, taking four new tires to try and equalize and balance the car.
After many more caution laps, the field went back to green on lap 74. "It's better but still feels free in and tight in the gas," said Skinner.
Following a long stretch of green flag laps, Crew Chief Paul Wolfe called for a pit stop on lap 127 to take four tires, fuel and two rounds down in the right rear jack bolt.
Another caution on lap 165 allowed the Supercuts No. 12 to come into the pits to get two down in the left rear jack bolt.
Skinner would go on to finish in 24th position gaining four spots from where he started the race.
As the season comes to an end, a new beginning comes for Supercuts and the No. 12 team. The off-season will give the team a chance to regroup and get ready for 2007.
